Food Safety Guidelines for Disasters

The Food Safety Emergency Action Plans provide guidance for NH food establishments on how to proceed in the event of a flood, interrupted electrical service, or contaminated water supply.  This guidance is directed to food establishments in order to protect the NH food supply and prevent food borne illnesses. 

 

Food Safety Guidelines:

Contaminated Water Supply (5 pages) - Provides information about water rationing and how to purify water.

 

Flood and Food Operations (5 pages) -  Guidelines for food operations for assessment, response and recovery of food establishments affected by flood conditions.

 

Food Storage and Loss of Electricity (5 pages) - Guidelines for food operations when electrical power for refrigerated food products is interrupted for 2 hours or more.
